For the first time in almost five years, we have air-conditioning at home!!

I can’t believe I’m actually happy about this. I fell out of love with AC a long time ago after developing a nasty cough that lingered for weeks (eventually the doctor surmised that I’d caught two consecutive flus, followed by a sinus infection).

But our summers have been mad warm, and when the nights don’t drop below the mid-to-high 20s for more than a couple in a row, it starts to mess with my sleep. Which messes with my writing, which messes with my livelihood.

The Guy from the Park is coming out soon. Even at this late hour, I’m considering adding a bit about the sweltering summer and the joys of climate control indoors. Just about all the scenes take place outdoors with just one or two moments inside an MC’s home, so it could happen — sensibly so.

Maybe it’s better to avoid writing until the novelty of this new purchase has worn off. Don’t mind me. I’ll just be over here getting my body temperature back into the comfortable zone.
