A federated blog @birdie@birdiesongauthor.com

If I've done everything correctly, you should now be able to find and follow this blog using ActivityPub platforms like Mastodon, Friendica, Misskey and other such sites.

If you've previously followed me at @birdiesong@romancelandia.club using Mastodon, you should be able to enter your Mastodon address on this Bridgy form to follow my new Fediverse address:

@birdie@birdiesongauthor.com

As always, if you prefer to stay away from social media platforms, you can still follow this blog using the RSS feed.

How to make your blog findable on the Fediverse

I use a service called Bridgy Fed, a free and open-source site that acts as a translator between a personal website and the fediverse (the big interoperable network that Mastodon is a part of).

Bridgy Fed gives you the option to either cross-post your links/posts to a Mastodon account, or have your site act as its own fediverse account. The former is quicker and easier to get up and running, but if you have access to your website's HTML code and server configuration file (eg. HTACCESS), the instructions for the latter are clear enough to make this happen without too much headache.
