November 2023
As the days grow longer and warmer, I’m loving the final chapters of Perth’s spring blooms, secretly hoping our kangaroo paw will keep flowering through the hot season. Sweet floral smells will soon turn sour and musty as we approach the December solstice. We’ve had temperatures upwards of 30°C (86°F if you’re in America) with very high UV Index warnings already, and it’s not even summer yet!
Fellow Aussies, don’t leave home without your sunnies. Gotta protect your pretty peepers 😎
This week, I’m visiting J. Arlene Culiner’s blog to share one of my favourite easy-to-make dessert recipes. Back when I found it, I was living the gluten-free life as part of a hunter-gatherer type diet my family was experimenting with. I’m not on that diet anymore, and even though I haven’t made this recipe in years, it’s the first one that comes to mind whenever I’m asked about interesting foods.
Please enjoy this flour-free microwave chocolate cake that fits in your coffee mug.
The Guy from the Internet will be just 99c on Smashwords, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books for the next couple of weeks.

Aim a laser pointer at the moon, then move your hand the tiniest bit, and it’ll move a thousand miles at the other end. The tiniest misunderstanding long ago, amplified through time, leads to piles of misunderstandings in the present.
We think of the past like it’s a physical fact - like it’s real. But the past is what we call our memory and stories about it. Imperfect memories, and stories built on one interpretation of incomplete information. That’s “the past”.
Don’t let it hold you back: The past is not true
By the way, reviews are a huge help to small-time indie authors. Both good reviews and bad ones help readers hone in on the books and authors they resonate with. If you’ve enjoyed one of my books, I’d love it if you would leave me a review or star rating on BookBub, StoryGraph or Goodreads.
