While I do like Katy Perry’s original hit, this is one of those songs where the slower, dreamier cover pulls my heartstrings a little more. I especially love the lyric change from something boozy to something cosy.

I can’t say there’s a “one that got away” in my life — and from a phrasing perspective, I’d prefer “one who got away”. But it happens. And you just gotta hope they meet the one who makes it all worth letting go.
